2000 Flatnose International school bus with an AT545 Alison Automatic Transmission and DT466E engine and a little over 100k miles. The bus is an 84 passenger, approximately 40’ long.

The 12” roof raise (designs to keep the overall bus height below 13′) was completed by Troy Spackman of Legacy Innovations of York, Pennsylvania. Troy has won a great deal of awards all over the country showcasing his ability to custom design and build unique vehicles and his work has been featured in Corvette magazine and Goodguys “Top 5 Street Machine of the Year Finalist.” He performed the roof raise in such a way so that it appears to be stock. Once painted you wouldn’t even be able to realize the roof was even raised!

Apart from the roof raise, Troy and his team paneled out windows with custom RV windows which can also be seen on Red Bull tour buses, added latched & lockable compartment storage bins under the rear of the bus, installed a ladder on the back, and closed up the back of the bus and various windows.

The windows are double pane, squared on the edges and tinted. They are also rated for high winds with thick and durable screens. The bus was cut below original bus windows and then raised so that there would be normal kitchen counter height.

The bus is entirely gutted and painted inside with a high end rust reformer to preserve and prevent any rust from forming inside.  After removing the seats the holes for the seats were welded and sprayed an undercoating underneath the bus to prevent any rusting there as well.

This bus is truly ready for the interior build out.  This bus was designed to be a platform for a very high end Skoolie. A home style front door was installed as well.  The school bus was originally purchased from Lanny Ashcraft of Durham School Bus Services in Texas.

We registered the bus as an RV in Vermont (no inspection or residency requirements).  Title can be transferred to another state.  Exterior of bus will need painted as school bus yellow does not comply with RV classification.  Oil recently changed and starter batteries replaced.  For an additional $500, I have six (6) Renogy 100 watt solar panels, new in box.  Tires passable, but should be replaced after conversion.
