SHE RUNS GREAT. I drove her from Cincinnati, to Columbia MO, through the Ozarks, to Little Rock AR, to Corpus Christi TX and back the same way, and she obviously made it there and back and I’d trust her to do it all again. Especially after what I put in to her. So if you’re interested, EVERYTHING is written below!
**Ugly but fixable problems**
-First. She *really* needs a proper bath lol. I tried to clean her but MS made me sick before I could finish, then it rained and I felt defeated.
–She needs a new paint job for sure! Some of her decals are still visible obviously.
-She has an RV power hookup and stuff, I don’t understand wiring. We didn’t touch anything, some wires were just laying around. They are all staying on the bus for the next person.
-Glue is stuck to the bones from previous conversion. Disability kind of prevents me from having the strength to remove it. Will give the new buyer our acetone though :P
-Big crack in windshield. Safelite quotes around $360 to replace.
-Previous owners let water collect and sit on the entry stairs. They rotted through and will need to be removed, replaced, welded, or whatever the new owner chooses to do. I get that most of you think this is a “RUN” situation but the bus is wonderful otherwise… We were personally going to remove them and floor over them, perhaps keeping water tanks under the new floor where the stairs once were. There’s a hobby welder here in Cincinnati willing to take a look that I can refer you to.
-Missing window in the very back, drivers side. Covered with sheet metal at the moment. We sealed it with Dynatron 550 as again, I am disabled and cant do much else to mend it now. The previous owners framed their wall over every window. Pictures of how it looked before gutting are in the comments.
**Things I am unconcerned with but want to disclose**
-ABS is on. Had no problems with braking to and from Texas.
-Check Engine is on. Was told by one of my mechanics that it will always come on because O2 readings are coming back incorrect. This shouldn’t be an issue for most Ohioans but might be a $350ish fix (replace sensors) if your city tests emissions.
-Shuttle doors not currently wired but the switch clicks when flipped so they can probably be rewired. I just operate them manually.
-No handicap lift
-AC kicks on whenever it feels like it. Sometimes not at all. It wasn’t a priority but sounds like an easy fix.
-Radio works but no speakers connected in the bus
-The diagnostic reader thing wasn’t connected so a mechanic connected it and while doing so disconnected the operating steering wheel lol. It did work though, that’ll just need to be plugged back in. (Cruise control and such)
*What I put in to the bus*
All work papers got ruined while gutting. I can show bank statements and give you the numbers and names of the business where each thing was done if you want though.
-Replaced part that was leaking while fueling at pump. ($120)
-Exhaust newly welded. New muffler attached. ($310)
-New intake manifold ($1100)
-New Coils and Spark Plugs ($400 parts and labor)
-The bus was “converted” before I bought it. It was horrendous. I spent quite a few weeks slowly taking apart their mess and regutting the bus. There are no chairs or original walls left. They had partially pulled up the floor and looks like they gave up
