1997 International T444E (Partial Conversion)
Willing to negotiate price.
I purchased this back in 2020 with the intent to finish and live in it. Plans have changed and I am moving to a different state without the bus. It is partially converted. The engine has only 155,319 miles on it and runs smoothly. We’ve driven it multiple times from Aurora, NE to Columbus, NE with no problems. We also had a mechanic look at it back in December and he said that the engine was in great condition. It can reach 65 on the highway. The front steering tire tread is not as good as the rear tire tread condition.
We patched the roof for any leaks, it is now leak proof and ready for insulation. It was wired for electricity by a professional and we have most of the plumbing already laid out. We already have the fresh and grey water tanks, a water pump, and an electric water heater. We bought cabinets for the kitchen, a fridge and a bathroom vanity. We welded a sturdy “garage” on the back of it, framed out a large bathroom, lots of underbed storage and overhead storage in the bedroom. Included is maple colored flooring. We painted the exterior last summer, and it looks very sharp in its new off-white coat.
There is little to no rust on the bottom of the bus. We have mounting equipment for the grey tank to sit securely under the bus and we have a fresh water inlet installed on the drivers side near the back where the fresh water tank would be. We planned on putting the fresh water tank inside, under the bed, so it wouldn’t freeze.
The layout of the bus maximizes space and has plenty of room for you to give it your own touches. The kitchen has enough space to house an apartment sized fridge, a range or stovetop, and a full sized sink. There is also plenty of space above the kitchen cabinets if you want to install overhead storage. The front area on the passenger side has enough space for a small living room. The bedframe is big enough for a queen sized mattress. The bathroom has enough space for a toilet, a vanity and a small shower or tub. We purchased and have partially installed a 2x4x2ft horse tank for a shower/tub. This is included in the purchase.
The bus is 11 windows long. On both sides of the bus the middle three windows are covered and sealed for privacy and reducing the possibility of window air or water leakage.
The old driver’s seat was replaced with a more comfortable seat from a Peterbilt semi truck.
We have the title and registration listed as a recreational vehicle.
This bus has had a lot of good hard work put into it. It’s so close to being finished.
