She needs a paint job, but otherwise, this skoolie is ready to go. We replaced the entire drive train from the stock caterpillar engine and Allison trans with the same (newer) trans and a 5.9 Cummins with really low miles. Features include:
4 burner vintage propane stove
Large modern sink
Natures head composting toilet
80’s/90’s porno mag collage on bathroom walls
Brand new Instant hot water heater and water pump
Wood burning stove
600 watts of solar with large Trojan deep cycle battery bank
2000 w pure sign wave inverter
Queen sized temerpedic mattress
46 gal. fresh and 46 gal. Grey water tanks
Hand crank awning
Collapsing vintage tin kitchen table
Convertible built-in couch with storage trunk
Tow hitch with motorcycle/scooter carrier
All the work is custom and very original, colorful and warm. The predominant wood interior gives it a artsy cabin feel. My wife and I lived full time on this bus, which we dubbed Hellen Bach, for 2 years and had a blast!
There are a few things mechanically that need to be noted, due to the engine/transmission swap:
The fuel gauge doesn’t work
the engine cooling fan is electric and needs to be turned on and off manually (this could be replaced with a traditional fan, but I’m not doing it)
There isn’t an emergency brake anymore (one could be installed but again, im not doing it)
