Description

PENDING SALE – 2001 Bluebird All American School Bus 8.3 L ISC Cummins Engine with an MD3060 Allison Transmission for sale.

260 horse power. One of the best motor combinations in terms of highway travel for skoolies! The motor is in the back for quiet travel.

This unit is in fantastic condition! Retired from the school circuit in May 2022, so just recently was being maintained regularly. Starts and drives really well. No exterior rust that we can see and no rust holes in the floor. Approximately 40 ft long. 6’7″ interior height from steel floor to steel ceiling. Four large exterior baggage compartments, which are highly sought after. 2 emergency doors and 1 emergency back window, plus 2 emergency roof hatches.

Full tank of diesel – tank is 100 gallons. Cruise control. Air brakes. Michelin tires all around and approximately 30% tread give or take. All exterior stickers have been removed in preparation for painting. The wheel indicator says 279,398 miles, which is nothing for an engine that many mechanics agree could go up to one million miles with the proper care. We don’t have any of the records for this bus and don’t know much about the history except that it was an activities bus, taking teams to games and such, so probably most of the miles are highway miles.

We have worked really hard in the last couple of months gutting the school bus. All the windows are gone (we dropped them off at a scrap metal place), as we were planning on doing a roof raise and using sheet metal and insulated RV windows instead. Skoolie windows are known to be a major leak point in a school bus, and we were adamant about leak proofing the bus.

We had tons of cool plans for this bus, but our life plans have changed dramatically since we got the bus and it doesn’t really fit the direction we are headed. We have a video of starting the engine on August 16th, 2022 which can be sent via text. Asking $10,900.00. None of our time or efforts in gutting the bus, or the full tank of fuel, have been included in the price – that is just a bonus to this excellent bus. Thanks for looking
