1998 Blue Bird TC2000 Beautifully Finished
This is El Guapo. He started life as a 1998 Bluebird TC 2000, 38 foot, front engine school bus from Davis County Utah. Now he is a completely off grid skoolie, who has criss-crossed the country a couple times, and is ready for his next adventure!
The Bus Engine is the incredibly desirable 12V Cummins (all mechanical) paired to a 5-speed automatic Allison transmission. This combination has been absolutely bulletproof for us and has taken us across the country twice with no problems whatsoever.
He cruises at 65 miles per hour and gets 10mpg. The bus has 265k miles on it, and has proven to be rock solid in every way.
The bus was completely gutted for the build, here is the list of what all was done:
-Inside floor rust completely remediated and sealed
–Spray foam insulated in walls and ceiling
-1.5” Foamboard insulated on Floor
-All windows removed, Disassembled, Tinted with ceramic film, and sealed.
-Skylights above Bed and in Living Room
-Maxxfan in Kitchen
-13.5k BTU Dometic A/C with Heat pump
-25’ awning
-Complete exterior paint sprayed with durable tractor paint
-Engine and drivetrain gone through and given clean bill of health by Diesel Mechanic
-Heat by ventless propane fireplace as well as Chinese diesel heater (webasto style)
-2 exterior underbody storage boxes
-1 generator storage box with Brand New predator 5500 generator
-95 gallons of fresh water between 2 tanks located under the bed
-40 gallon gray water tank. No black Water.
-Seaflo 5.5 gpm water pump with 1 gal accumulator
-Wired and ready for 35Amp shore power service
-1070 watts of solar on the roof with custom built, top quality solar management system (victron)
-170AH lithium iron phosphate house battery
-tankless hot water heater
-2 40lb propane bottles
-cedar plank ceiling
-shiplap interior walls
