Due to some unfortunate events, I’m forced to have to sell my Skoolie. She’s looking for a good home!
  • I’ve owned this bus for right around six years, and memories made in this thing are enough to last a lifetime. I’ve tossed around the idea of selling this thing several times, and have had so many offers over the years that it’s not even funny, but life has decided that it’s time to do other things.
  • Cosmetically, the exterior could use some loving. I purchased this bus just like it is, and the prior owners are the ones who did the build. When they painted the bus, I’m pretty sure they didn’t do any sanding or scuffing, and the blue paint is chipping off everywhere.
  • It was built with the purpose of tailgating, and weekend camping trips with their grandkids. It will comfortably sleep 7. It has a full-size mattress in the bedroom, four bunks which are easily removable to free up that entire area, and the couch.
Pros
  • Mechanically, the bus is rock solid. It has an inline, 12v, 6-cylinder, 5.9L Cummins and has only 140k miles. It has a AT-545 (I believe) automatic trans. If you know much about diesels, then you know this is one of the last years to contain all mechanical components. This model engine was the last of the true mechanical turbo diesels, and no emission restrictions other than the muffler. This thing purrs like a kitten, and has ALWAYS started right up. It runs down the highway at 60 miles per hour due to either the rear end configuration, or it is governed. The bus is equipped with air brakes which work great.
  • Living quarters is insulated with 2” foam board insulation
  • As far as the build goes, they did a good job installing all the electrical inside the bus. There is a residential fuse panel under the kitchen sink, and several 110v outlets throughout the bus.
  • Roughly 34ft in length
  • Has a heavy-duty tow hitch. Can pull an enclosed trailer with ease
  • Bus was recently serviced
  • Bus is titled in Iowa as an RV – Does not require any special license to drive it. Title in hand.
Cons
  • First and foremost, the bus is going to need tires before going too terribly far. The ones on it are dated. I can help as far as locating tires, and having them replaced. There is a tire shop where the bus is currently parked.
  • May need a battery
  • Paint is peeling
  • The last time I drove it, I took it on a 60-mile overnight adventure, and when I pulled out of the driveway, I noticed the accelerator pedal stuck slightly. Initially it was frightening, as I thought something was wrong with the engine, but I realized if I pulled back up on the accelerator with my foot, it was fine. I haven’t had an opportunity to address this issue yet. May be as simple as something needing some WD-40.
  • The bus is currently located near Macomb, Illinois, and I am currently located in Florida which may make this a little tricky, but not impossible. I have videos if interested. Please let me know if you have any questions. I will not hesitate to tell you everything I know about this bus.
