1997 International 3800 T444E 225,000 miles

Selling our beloved 38 ft Skoolie. We have lived and traveled full-time in it for the last 3 years. It is fully equipped to be off-grid for over 2 weeks at a time. With a propane oven/range, large kitchen sink, residential fridge, massive shower, king size bed, W/D combo, and A/C, we have not sacrificed most of the luxuries of living in a house.

Mechanically she is in excellent shape. I have changed oil regularly as well as kept fluids topped off when needed. We bring it to an International service shop once per year for an inspection. Here is a list of parts and services since we owned it.

• New tires in 2020 have about 30,000 miles on them.
• Air brakes compressor changed in 2020
• New driver-side drive link in 2022
• New ICP sensor in 2022
• New steer wheel hubs 2023
• New drive shaft bushings 2023

There are a few small and manageable quirks.

• She doesn’t like to start in the cold at high elevations. I have pinpointed it to anything above 6500 feet when temps are below 40. A block heater would fix this.
• The fuel gauge doesn’t work at times. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. I just pay attention to how many miles I’ve gone and make sure to fuel up frequently.
• There is a small exhaust leak under the hood, SOMETIMES. It is only present right when you start the bus in cold weather.  All I have to do is drive about 50 feet, shut it off, wait 30 seconds, turn it back on, and the leak seals back up.
• There is no horn. It didn’t work to begin with and then one time the faint horn started going off for minutes and then the actual horn component on the exterior started smoking. We unplugged it and have chosen not to address it lol. Shouldn’t be a hard fix.
